Thanks to all our teen volunteers who came to our Teen Volunteer Appreciation Party: Double Agent Edition 009. We had a blast!

Agents learned how to decode messages, identify devices used by spies (lemons, really??), and test their agility with an obstacle course. After completing basic training, agents were sent on a mission to identify who murdered an SIA operative and stole the crown jewels of Monrovia. They had to locate clues hidden within the library in order to find the Throne Room, and pass through the laser-activated security system to return the jewels before there was an international incident.

Teens volunteered at the library over the year at our Teen Advisory Committee, Readathon, Reading Buddies, and Children’s Summer Reading Game Volunteers programs. Thanks to all their hard work and enthusiasm! 51 teens put in over 340 hours of their time, and we couldn’t do it without you!!

We’re trying out a new way to keep you in the loop about what’s going on for teens at the Strathcona County Library. Keep checking back for information about upcoming programs, events, contests, and good stuff for teens. We’ll still keep the detailed info about program dates on our website for you to view at a glance, but The Zone is a great way to keep connected!
